Adventure camps with ESA combine sailing, watersports and exploring Eleuthera. Visiting schools and youth groups learn on the water while their programmes help support local sailing and jobs.

FROM OUR VISITING-PROGRAMME PRESENTATION
Learn by taking part
Students steer, trim sails, rig boats and practise working together. They can try windsurfing, paddleboarding and kayaking, explore beaches and sandbars, and meet local youth sailors when shared sessions are arranged.
We match activities to the group’s experience and the day’s conditions, using Savannah Sound and the South Eleuthera (at CEIS) programme.
01 · SAILING EXPEDITION
Explore aboard Avelinda
A full-day expedition from The Island School towards the Schooner Cays. Students help hoist sails and steer, learn navigation and seamanship, and explore beaches, reefs and sandbars with ESA instructors.
02 · WATERSPORTS DAY
Try the Sound
A day of coached sailing, kayaking or paddleboarding towards Secret Beach, and beginner windsurfing. The mix depends on the conditions and the group’s interests.
03 · THREE-DAY SAILING CAMP
Build skills, then race
Start with rigging, safety and wind awareness. Develop steering, sail trim and teamwork, then put those skills into practice with longer sails, exploration and a mini-regatta.
04 · FOUR-DAY ADVENTURE
Sail, explore and compete
Combine sailing skills and windsports with an Avelinda expedition to the Schooner Cays, followed by a regatta day where students use what they have learned.
Build on the programmes we have
These formats come from our existing Eleuthera Sailing Experience presentation, shared with visiting-school partners. We agree the final itinerary, coaching, transport, meals and any accommodation with each group.
Our longer-term plan includes a permanent base and visiting-group facilities in Savannah Sound, supporting school visits, camps and training teams. Those facilities and the programme’s funding needs are set out separately below.
